CIVIC BEHAVIOR - AN INTROSPECTION

Bangalore Traffic -1
Bangalore Traffic -2

The traffic in Los Angels

INDIAN DRIVERS !!!!!!!

Why we always want to be the first everywhere?
Traffic lights/jam - everyone squeezes in to the front on the wrong lane prohibiting free traffid flow from opposite side. RESULT - Everybody loses time
Security Check at Airports - every one wants to jumb the que. For what? Just to wait in the lounge for the boarding announcement?
Boarding the air craft - Eventhough you have sets allocated (unlike in buses) you run to the boarding gate pushing others in the que. Why? To reach your destination before others in the air craft?
Why don't people switch off mobiles in planes? How many of us know that its signals will inetrfere communication between the pilot and ATC which is vital during not only landing & take off, but taxiing too. [Havn't you noticed the "brrrrrrrrrr...." sound in our computer speakers or TV when mobiles ring?] Why many want to recline their seats (at the cost of others knees) immediately after the stewards goes away to her seat?
Let us behave ourselves. Save time & energy. Let the BP levels at normal. Behave friendly. Obey rules.

Politicians - what we want

There is a lot of talk about politicians, thier attitude, excess VVIP security etc
The general public outrage against politicians is at its peak now. Politicians have started retorting too. Let me anlyse it.
  • Do we need Politicians? - Yes we need them in a democracy Why? - Without them there will be anrchy. But we need good ones. Not the kind of lot we have now.

What is wrong? What we don't want - We don't want the present day politicians and their politics. They are not politicians. They are just self employed parasites living on the blood of common man. Yes there are some exemptions. Less than 100 in all over India.

We do not want the politicians who become billionires through public life. We do not want politicians who think only about their power, position & wealth. We do not want politicians who wants to be immune to everything from traffic lights to security ques and travel reservations to temple entries. We do not want politicians who run from behind the land mafias, dacoit gangs, human traffikers, sex trade etc. Also we do not want them to do highly profitable. [Have you at any time thought why the prices of ATF is reduced and petrol & diesel proices ar NOT reduced. Then correspondingly air fare is not reduced. It has nothing to do with loss to PSUs, but loss to the big guy who has major stakes in the two major air lines]. We don't want ploiticans who build Govt palaces and buy High end Govt cars.

  • What we want - Good people with commitment and integrity. People willing to sacrifice for the common man. People who debate in the house on issues of common man. We want politicians who think for the country. We want politicians who can implement the law with out fear. We want politicians who are accessible. We want politicians who keep their words. we want to see politicians who obey traffic rules and stand in the que.

YES WE WANT POLITICIANS. BUT NOT THE KIND OF PRESENT GOONS. GOOD ONES WHO CARE FOR THEIR COUNTRY AND COUNTRYMEN.

SECURUTY AND SAFETY - We need to change our attitude

There is a lot of security huff puff going around after the 26/11. They say securuty at Hospitals, Hotels airports etc are at highest levels!!!!
We have read the report of a pistol being taken easily through the entrance and exit of CST immediately after the terror attacks. here are some of my experiences.
SCENE - 1
On the morning of 27/11 I was at Bhibaneswar airport knowing nothing about the Bombay attack. There was about 200 security personnel out side. I though it was for some VVIP. Checking was routine. I came to know about the terror attack only after watching the airport lounge TV. The rule says that passengeres who have checked in are not allowed to go out. But, I could go out and have a smoke walking unquestioned thorugh the "ENTRY" door manned by 5 policemen including an inspector !!! No questions were asked.
SCENE - 2
Again on 3rd & 4th Dec I from Bangalore to Delhi & back. Other that hundreds of security personnel roaming out side the airport everything was normal. They could not even find out a few match boxes in the baggage of a passenger whoshowed it to me later !!!!!
SCENE - 3
The Columbia Asia Hospital at Hebbal in Bangalore. There are three staff at the main gate. They stopeed my car and asked to roll down the window. Then the guy put the hand held metal detector through the window and did something like "ARATHI" on my face and happily allowed me to proceed !!!!!!!!! HIGH LEVEL SECURITY CHECK !!!!!!!!!!! What if I had a gun in my pocket ?????
We hasve also seen so much of a hue & cry over beefed up security imeediately after an incedent. But it wanes off in a couple of weeks.

What should they do?
  • Give basic training to security staff or hire them from a reputed agency
  • Burry the "THAT IS OK" attitude
  • Do not take anyone for granted
  • Security check should be thorough, consitent and sustained.

Incredible India

THE COMPLETED 4 LANE HIGHWAY NH 03

TRAIN & CAR ON THE SAME BRIDGE !!!!!!!!!!!! Jhanjarpur, Bihar

CONDITION OF NH 104 IN BIHAR - ABOUT 10 KM FROM NEPAL BORDER

THIS IS HOW RURAL BIHARIS TRAVEL - NH 57 Near Muzafarpur

A YOUNG GIRL TOO ON A BUFALLO !!!!!!!!!!!! Near Dharbanga

See that some parts of india are most backward and down ridden. Thanks to self centred politicians. Bihar has one of the most fertile natural land in India. The climate is good. Common people are simple, honest & hard working. It has a glittering history - recent & past. The cradle of Indian culture, ancient education, birth place of Buddha and what not? What is the use. Now it is all gone and become one of the poorest places. Nobody wants to work there. No industrialist wants to operate there. No contractors want to take up works there.
Don't get upset when the people of Bihar goes to other states in search of job. All of them. The poor laboreres, eductionists, Technocrats and even efficent government officers.
We can see thached huts and a mansion at the middle. The locals proudly announce that it is the house of thier MLA !!!!!!!!!
Do we still need such a free democracy? Are we matured enough for that?
Who can start thinking of a system of recalling your elected representative if he does not perform well? Why do we forget all the abuses done to the public by the politicians when the polling date comes?
